Reporting into the Head of Transport Sustainability, as the Principal Sustainability Advisor you will lead the development of strategic advice on greenhouse gas emissions reduction and the integration of sustainability into decision making across Auckland Transport.
and then support the business in implementation.This is a key role for AT, combining technical expertise, engagement and collaboration skills to develop successful targets, plans and initiatives on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The role works across AT's operations, suppliers and the wider transport system.

Your strong technical experience in climate change, breadth of experience is more important than experience in the transport sector.
You would have led the development of pragmatic and effective sustainability initiatives, whilst drawing on technical knowledge to provide specialist support to the rest of the business, track progress, write great reports, and win the trust of key stakeholders.
this is the foundation to develop the targets, plans and initiatives.
A strong communicator, you will have the ability to translate technical expertise into practical initiatives and influential advice and have the skills to provide high-quality reports and presentations, ideally some experience in writing Board papers or similar.
