The Earthquake Commission (EQC), Kōmihana Rūwhenua, is a Crown Entity with a mission to reduce the impact on people and property when natural disasters occur.

Our country's natural hazard risk profile is complex, so we are focussed on supporting a healthy and prosperous New Zealand through delivery relating to recovery, resilience, risk financing and readiness.

We are currently looking for an experienced HR Analyst with the operational awareness to turn data into useful insights, in order to support the organisation in achieving our strategic objectives.

What does the role involve?

You will bring your passion for data and insights to this role. As People, Culture and Capability Analyst you will be pivotal in providing HR analytics and insights that enhance the People, Culture and Capability Teams services and enable the wider business and Executive Leadership Team to make effective workforce decisions.

You will leverage your proven experience to show you are adept in systems administration, managing EQC's HRIS system (JadeStar) and maximizing integration across all HR systems.

Your knowledge and experience of current workforce trends and legislation will enable you to accurately report, and advise on, workforce statistics.

As a member of the HR Advisory team you will drive our data integrity through coaching other members of the team and ensuring there are robust processes and documentation in place.

Does this sound like the role for you?

You'll thrive in this role if you have the following skills and experience :

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (HR desirable) and / or experience of working within an HR environment
  • 5-6 years' experience in the use of HR or Payroll systems administration (preferably JadeStar)
  • You will have excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data into meaningful insights
  • Ability to create professional reporting dashboards for executive and governance audiences
  • Significant experience in the use of computer-based report writing and analytical tools ie. Excel or other database skills, including manipulation and analysis of large, complex datasets
  • Experience with annual remuneration analysis and processes
  • Ability to write to a high standard (clear, accurate, concise, appropriate to audience)
  • You will have a sound knowledge of HR trends and practices
  • A good understanding of the security, collection, interpretation and uses of HR information and the ability to convey this to a variety of audiences
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite, Power BI an advantage
