The Staff Technologist / Scientist conducts fundamental or applied research to improve, or generate new; products, components, equipment, systems, and processes.
This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.

What you will do
Conduct complex research projects using existing or new scientific methods and theories to solve problems; and improve, or generate new, products, components, equipment, systems, and processes.
Activities may include devising research methods; setting-up laboratory test equipment; building models and prototypes;
calculating and analyzing test results and preparing detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.
Prepare complex calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation so that prototype designs can be manufactured and assembled.
Collaborate with R&D team, marketing partners and clinicians to progress an iterative design process that executes user research, identifies user needs and generates innovative solutions to meet those needs
Develop prototypes and software applications that can assist with clinical decision making
Work with end users to test and validate the clinical function of software applications
Provide data quality testing and data analytics at a clinical study level in close collaboration with scientists and engineers
Manage / facilitate investigator meetings and cadaver labs for product evaluations and pre-clinical testing
Understand and utilize design controls within a global quality framework, such as the New Product Development Process (NPDP).
Assist with software and design documentation to support product development teams
Work with project managers to ensure project plans adhere to agreed-upon timelines and budget and that they are within the scope of the NPDP guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience
This position requires professional mastery of a specialized field of expertise that typically requires a college degree or equivalent.
The job requires professional knowledge gained through substantial applicable work experience, to supplement formal knowledge, in order to apply principles and concepts of own subject / technical discipline in resolving issues as they arrive.
The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information.
This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 4 or more years experience.
