Want to be part of a specialist covert team that unlocks information to help keep our communities safe?An opportunity for a Senior Customs Officer (Grade 1) has arisen within our Technical Forensics Group, in the Human Source Unit (HSU).
This team develops critical intelligence to help us understand and target activities related to organised crime, drugs and revenue fraud.
The role requires resilient, dynamic, conscientious and adaptable individuals. You'll have outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your work will directly support HSU operations and you will be a critical conduit to our customers.You will need to have demonstrated competency in an operational or intelligence environment, and have an interest in learning about Human Intelligence (HUMINT).
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate : Ability to manage projects and programmes of work proactivelyAbility to work flexibly including short notice weekend and outside of business hours work including being able to deploy nationally at short notice if requiredA clean and valid full / unrestricted New Zealand driver's licenceAbility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret* security clearanceSufficient physical fitness to meet and maintain all physical requirements for the role(*) Physical fitness - as part of the selection process if shortlisted for interview, you will need to pass a medical test and the Beep Test to 'average' level (you can find out more about the Beep test online) and some strength based tests.
We also conduct a pre-employment medical assessment and drug screening.( ) Security Clearances - You will need to obtain and maintain Top Secret level national security clearance.
To achieve Top Secret clearance, you must be a NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident and have resided in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States continuously for the last 10 years.
