We're looking for a Sterilising Unit Trainee to join our friendly, supportive and close-knit Endoscopy team. A Sterilising Unit Trainee provides world class Sterilisation Services in accordance with the vision and objectives of MercyAscot by ensuring the supply of a quality product in the Endoscopy Unit, utilising established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging and sterilisation.
Your main duties will include : Pre-cleaning, cleaning and disinfection of Olympus video EndoscopesAssembling of endoscopes and preparation for high level disinfectionMaintaining inventory and appropriate storage of sterile itemsReporting equipment and supply problems to appropriate personSharing sterilising knowledge with internal and external stakeholders e.
g. Registered NursesOther task(s) requested by Charge Nurse ManagerAs the successful candidate you will have : Z.S.S.A. Sterilisation Certificate or a willingness to undertake within 2 yearsGenca Certification or a willingness to undertake within 6monthsMinimum 3 years secondary schoolPrevious experience within a healthcare or surgical environment is desirableExcellent verbal / written communicationGreat attention to detailSuperb organisation and time management skills.
