Job Tasks & Responsibilities

The role is based in our Wellington branch office and will be responsible for developing new business growth in the lower North Island.

The role reports to the Manager for Business Development in New Zealand and the focus will be to achieve sales targets that will ensure revenue growth and profitability.

Further Tasks and Responsibilities include :

  • Maintain an effective pipeline and business plan for each client on an ongoing basis to ensure maximization of all business offerings
  • Enter all customer opportunities and call activity into Dynamics CRM
  • 8 customer visits per week
  • Pathway to budget growth aligned with Dynamics opportunities
  • Work pro-actively within the target base improving awareness of business offerings.
  • Research and identify key customers from local, domestic and International markets and sources
  • Conduct joint calls with the Customer Service Team and DSV Team Members to improve awareness of DSV's 'value adds'
  • Co-ordinate demonstrations, where necessary to ensure an awareness of the businesses offerings
  • Develop and maintain new customer data base
  • Liaises with the Branch, ensuring a consistent business approach
  • Maintain high levels of activity and customer focus achieving set targets
  • Skills & Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in International Freight Forwarding, Sales and customer acquisition
  • Minimum 3 Years' experience in sales / business development role with a proven track record of achieving high sales targets
  • Experience with Cargowise One is a must
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable
  • Strong work ethic & a desire to learn
