Job Description

The Customer Engagement Unit is looking for a skilled Senior Web Communications Advisor to join our Web Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to put your web expertise to work communicating the Department's key messages and conservation work to the public.

Reporting to the Team Lead Web Communications, you will :

  • work in a team focussed on delivering strong external communications and excellent customer service
  • create, edit and maintain web content for the Department's website
  • advise staff on preparing web content
  • contribute to the strategic projects needed to keep the website engaging and responsive
  • build great relationships with the Customer Engagement Unit and with the Department's wider team in Auckland and Northland
  • You will bring to the team :

  • skill in creating, editing and proofing content for the web
  • website communications experience and an understanding of web technologies including a working knowledge of HTML
  • a focus on the user, with an understanding of usability and accessibility
  • ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people
  • problem solving and analytical skills
  • ability to provide support and share expertise
  • ability to work under pressure
  • The successful candidate will be a capable multi-tasker, able to work quickly, manage conflicting priorities and get work done to a high standard.

    You will need to work independently and with initiative as the role is based in a different location from your manager and other team members.

    You will need be able to communicate in a timely and effective way with your team in Wellington.

    You will be expected to travel to Wellington at times to meet with your team and participate in Customer Engagement Team hui.
