Our Structural Engineering Business Group has seen continued and sustained growth in workload and projects and now has an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer and / or Team Leader to help drive the ongoing success of our Wellington team.

Working within our national structures team, you will work collaboratively with our clients as an integrated project team to provide designs that focus on constructability, simplicity, innovation and technical excellence.

We provide services for the entire life cycle of our clients' assets from planning, design and delivery to ongoing operations and demolition.

Ultimately, we aim to deliver lasting community benefit.

In this role you will :

  • Design structures composed of reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber and their associated foundations for a variety of projects in the areas of defence commercial and industrial multi-storey community and government sporting and recreation, water treatment / storage transport and mining infrastructure
  • Carry out seismic assessments including the design / strengthening of earthquake prone buildings
  • Project manage, investigate, design and implement a range of projects involving infrastructure projects, commercial building design and multidisciplinary projects
  • Provide guidance to junior design engineers on projects and train, mentor and further promote their development within the business
  • About you :

  • You will be a Civil and Chartered Professional Engineer (NZ) with 7+ years New Zealand experience with proven experience managing multi-discipline projects
  • An excellent working knowledge of the NZ Building Act and Code together with a working knowledge of public and private sector development requirements will be essential in this role
  • Your well-developed communication skills together with a proven ability to nurture and develop teamwork within the group will be highly regarded
  • You will naturally be self-motivated, energetic and an organised team player.
