Te Tākinatanga - Our StoryAt Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand, our key role is to ensure New Zealanders have accurate information about where people and places are, that people have confidence in their property rights and that Crown property is well managed for future generations.

  • and that overseas ownership of sensitive assets is in New Zealand's best interests. To help us realise this goal, we are seeking an outgoing, energetic and innovative Service Design Lead to join our ground-breaking programme.

    Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleYou will be part of a wider team that supports Toitū Te Whenua transformational journey.

    Reporting into the Group Manager STEP Business Squad you will partner with Property Rights and Digital Delivery to deliver change and future ways of working.

    Using your well developed and effective business and relationship development skills, you will work closely with our skilled technical people to open doors to new opportunities.

    You'll leverage both your external and internal relationships to contribute to and influence future plans for the development of modern and effective services in the sector, working with key players and customers to grasp user needs.

    Through your understanding of service design, you will facilitate and explore different approaches to solving challenges and delivering products and services that meet stakeholder needs.

    With your strategic oversight, leadership and design abilities, this role will give you the opportunity to confidently lead your team to help deliver one of the most significant industry changes across this sector for the last 20 years.

    With your practical approach to your work, you will have opportunities to undertake hands on work yourself, while focussing on the overall strengths and areas for improvement.

    Working collaboratively across our STEP Business Squad and all other key stakeholders, you'll ensure our products and services are consistent, well-coordinated and in line with the goals we are trying to achieve as well as reflecting our customer centric and agile attitude to our work.

    Toitū Te Whenua has offices in Wellington, Christchurch, and Hamilton. This role can be located at any of these three offices.

    He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience :

  • Developing new ways of working through service design using tools and practice in collaboration with the agile methodology that will establish the delivery of future ways of working.
  • Work with all stakeholders both internal and external to co-design and deliver strategies to deliver enhanced services to our customers.
  • Partnering with leaders and other key stakeholders to consult on 'best practice' approaches to ensure that service design approaches are relevant, consistent and well understood by those responsible for implementation.
  • Building internal service design capability, through education of the practice and coaching / guidance in the application of these.
  • Enhancing the performance of our people, developing people capability through coaching, mentoring, and actively sharing knowledge and expertise.
