Do you love to WOW your guests? We are on the hunt for an energetic & well-organised professional to join our team as the Events & Functions Coordinator for our four Mount Maunganui venues!

This role comes with lots of variation in your week! Between Function & Events sales & operations and your general administrative tasks your week will fly by!

Responsibilities include supporting the venue teams and assisting them with the delivery of planned functions and events with the aim of exceeding our guests expectations and creating memorable experiences.

A great Function & Events Coordinator is organised yet flexible, creative and agile, quick thinking with an eye for detail and above all loves taking care of our guests whilst staying on top of a million things at once.

The four venues that you will work with are Latitude 37, Master Kong, Madame Sunset and Roxie’s Cantina. The venues all have a variety of different function spaces that can cater for a variety of different event types, meaning no two days are the same in this role!

This is a brand new role, so you will get the chance to make it your own! With summer and Christmas function season rapidly approaching, now is the perfect time to join our team and help make our venues the function hot-spot this summer!

The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $27.50 per hour depending on your experience.

This is a full-time position with a minimum expected week of 40 hours per week.

Due to the nature of hospitality, we are a 7-day business, shifts will vary from morning to night and days will vary.

The Events & Functions Coordinator role will work with our Venue Managers and Head Chefs to execute outstanding events through :

  • Assisting the venues with theming, logistics and execution of events
  • Coordination of inbound enquiries (both email & phone queries)
  • Liaising & communicating with customers, suppliers as well as relevant Kāpura team members to support the execution of events.
  • Promote the venues and confidently cross sell venues and offerings
  • Overseeing and processing of function and events bookings
  • Increasing revenue at the venues through functions and events
  • A bit about you :

  • You’ll have a minimum of 1 years experience in planning & execution of Functions
  • You’ll have an interest in pursuing a career in Hospitality or Functions & Event management
  • You are a people person, have an upbeat attitude and get a kick out of making someone’s day!
  • You’ll have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • You enjoy a bit of organised chaos and love working under pressure
  • You are a ninja with Gmail, Excel and Cloud based systems
  • You are a natural-born leader who loves to lead teams
