    As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.

    To Help Auckland be a great place to live we are seeking a senior project manager to help us deliver this outcome. You will champion and deliver specific projects to provide the Auckland public with high quality assets while improving our open space and facilities for public to enjoy.

    These projects are focused on capital and renewal works including park development, playgrounds, walkways, sporting facilities, buildings etc (to name just a few).

    You’ll be responsible for end-to-end project management and delivery, as well as maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders such as mana whenua, user groups, business owners.

    Within your role, you’ll provide technical advice as you lead the delivery of project outputs and outcomes. You’ll ensure quality delivery thorough project planning, timely reporting, accurate financial control, and effective risk management.

    As a project manager you will deliver best practice in project delivery, people leadership, H&S and quality assurance through to construction contract management and monitoring.

    Ideally you will have a background which encompasses construction, architecture, or landscaping disciplines.

    You’ll be well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, being savvy to deal with ambiguity whilst making quality decisions in a dynamic, challenging environment, as well as a passion for the health, safety, and wellbeing of those you work with.

    Alongside a collaborative nature and solid relationship management skills, you’ll bring a clear customer service ethic and a sense of personal ownership and responsibility.

    The ideal candidate will possess some of the following skills which will help meet the desired outcome for the role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management within construction
  • Comfortable reading and understanding of blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles as well as having a knowledge of NZ Building code & Standards.

    You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
