  • The Auckland RegionalForensic Psychiatry Service , or the Mason Clinic as it isoften known, is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand.

    Weserve the four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in thenorthern region and four prisons.

    We deliver a comprehensive rangeof Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute andrehabilitation services which connect to community rehabilitation services,services for offenders with an intellectual disability, culture specificprogrammes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services.

    This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility atNgawha and Northland.

    The Regional ForensicPrison Team employs experienced mental health nurses to work in the Aucklandand Regional prisons, alongside our psychiatrists, social workers, culturalworkers and clinical psychologists.

    You will be part of a great teamof experienced clinicians, committed to and passionate abouttheir work but also able to share humour, in an interesting andresponsible role in a very unique setting.

    Anopportunity has arisen for an experienced , NZROT qualified Occupational Therapist to workwithin an integrated multidisciplinary team, providing specialist occupationaltherapy assessments, interventions and enhancing the wellbeing of those who useour service.

    This is a full time position within our prison team. This would bean excellent opportunity for professional development and to experience aunique working environment.

    Youwill need to be flexible and possess strong clinical, interpersonal andrelationship skills.


  • Occupational therapy diploma / degree
  • NZ registered Occupational Therapist
  • Full driver’s license
  • Interested in the fields of mental health and vocational rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of the principles of mental health consumerism and client advocacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • At least 12 months experience working in the mental health sector
  • Experience of developing services in within mental health consumer groups
