Mount Wellington, AucklandFull-time, PermanentSt John has established a 24-hour national Health Transport Operations Centre to coordinate and plan the requests for patient transfers by ambulance between health facilities across most areas of New Zealand.
A recent review has recommended new Health Transport Operations Centre Shift Leader positions to ensure 24 / 7 operational shift leadership of the centre.
As a Shift Leader you will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership of the Health Transport Operations Centre (HTOC), to ensure the effective delivery and national coordination of Patient Transfer Services (PTS) to our District Health Boards and other customers who utilise PTS across New Zealand.
You will be working as part of a wider team across both the PTS business unit and the Clinical Communication Service (CCS) team.
This is a permanent position, with an expectation you will work an average of 42 hours per week on rostered shifts over a 24 / 7 pattern of 12 hour shifts -
generally two days and two nights followed by four days off.To be successful you will have;proven experience leading and developing a high performing teamexperience reviewing and improve business and quality assurance processes.
a genuine desire to deliver great customer servicebeen involved in the health sector environment (or similar) and ideally have knowledge or experience with patient flows or bed capacity management.
A background in logistics would also be of interest.This role offers a unique opportunity to continue to shape the future direction of a vital service to our patients and customers while developing effective relationships with field-
