Environment Canterbury collects and maintains vast quantities of data. These datasets are used to help understand over time, what is happening in our environment by our scientists, other government agencies and the public.
ECan has also signed up to the open and transparent government programme, of which open data is one of the key pillars. ECan wishes to make as much of its data as possible available freely to the public to underpin innovation and economic development across the region.
Given the importance of data we require a Data Architect to join our Enterprise Data and BI team to help further develop our enterprise data models and support our data strategy.

You will also work closely with other BIS staff, such as Solution Architects, to ensure data within new software and services align with existing models.
