    About The Salvation Army Transitional Housing Programme

    To support our tenants with expert Tenancy Management while providing navigation to social service agencies. To maintain a strong connection to TSA programs, TSA Corps.

    Centres, and external providers and services.

    About the role / job description

    This is an exciting opportunity to continue your tenancy management career within a community housing environment. The Tenancy Support Worker is primarily responsible to provide specialist tenancy management services whilst building and maintaining respectful and effective relationships with tenants, their whanau and Government agencies (Govt.

    and NGO) and support and service providers within our community.

    Key tasks

  • Providing tenancy management support to clients entering and exiting our transitional housing properties.
  • Ensuring houses are clean, well maintained and provide a welcoming environment for clients.
  • Assisting in the setup of new properties and ensure furnishings, utensils and appliances in existing properties are fully functional.
  • Organising repairs and maintenance in partnership with landlords.
  • Conducting property inspections.
  • Addressing antisocial behaviour complaints against tenants.
  • Supporting Team Leader with procurement of properties for transitional housing.
  • Engaging with the wider transitional housing and TSA team.
  • Meeting all Health and Safety requirements.
  • Developing effective working relationships with existing agencies (Govt. and NGO) and supporting agencies within the community.
  • Person Specification

    Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following :

  • Experience in property or tenancy management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • A high level of personal integrity and professionalism.
  • Competency in using IT systems and accurate data entry.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • An eye for detail.
  • An understanding of, and heart for, social justice issues.
  • Commitment to The Salvation Army and ongoing learning and development.
  • Current full and clean driver licence.
  • Essential : For the safety and wellbeing of our current staff, The Salvation Army requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated.
