    You’ll bejoining New Plymouth District Council at a critical time with the approved long-term plan providing for considerable infrastructureinvestment.

    This is a newly createdposition within the Infrastructure Projects team so there is real opportunityto bring your ideas and experience and make a difference.

    The Challenge :

  • Work closely with Project Managers and provide commercial support at procurementand construction stages of infrastructure projects.
  • Includes contract documentation and tenderpricing schedules, tender review, monthly payment assessments, variation and compensationapprovals, cost assurance auditing, actual vs estimated cost analysis.

  • Lead the development of budget estimates for infrastructure projects atbusiness case and project planning stages.
  • Create, maintain, and utilise a cost database to deliver accurate,realistic cost estimates.
  • Work within and support advanced procurementpractices and NEC 4 form of contract.
  • Work closely with colleagues, consultants and contractors, and be anintegral member of cross-organisation project delivery teams.
  • Your Skills :

  • Tertiaryqualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or CivilEngineering.
  • 7+ years’ ofrelated experience including cost estimation / quantity surveying in the civilengineering, 3 waters or building sectors.
  • Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong deliveryfocus with excellent judgement and a degree of comfort to make decisions underpressure and take a pragmatic approach.
