As a not for profit leader in the Disability Sector St John of God Halswell provides hospital level care and support for long-term residential, rehabilitation, and respite residents aged between 16 and 65 years of age who have physical and neurological disabilities.

In addition our Transitional Rehabilitation service at The Granada Centre works in close partnership with BIRS and Burwood Spinal Unit to support clients from around New Zealand.

Our skilled team employ a diversity of specialities to support people towards their goals of community living. At St John of God Halswell you would be implementing our own unique and inspiring model of care which focuses on creating opportunities for participation and individualised care of the 60 residents living at Halswell.

This is a permanent role working, on average, 72 hours per fortnight on a 4 on 2 off roster pattern. Day and night shifts are available.

What you need :

  • NZ practising Certificate ideally with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
  • Strong organisational and leaderships skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively liaise with other health professionals and a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Outstanding communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
