    At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

    We shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary.

    About the role

    Assistant Delivery Managers (ADM) will work closely with Delivery Managers, who will provide mentoring and guidance. ADMs will progress to oversee a group of capital projects (building construction) and will follow and work within Ministry and Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko Infrastructure and Digital, policy, procedures and guidelines.

    They will eventually be responsible for managing projects that are low in risk and complexity. They will also provide day to day operational and administrative support to the Delivery Managers on their larger more complex projects.

    The ADMs are responsible for developing effective relationships and trust with schools and other internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that consultants are working effectively and efficiently to deliver school infrastructure projects on time, to budget and to scope as set out in the project brief.

    Key skills :

  • Management of end-to-end school building construction projects in a fast paced and complex portfolio
  • Stakeholder relationship management with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Problem solving and collaboration to deliver great results with maximum impact
  • About you

    You are a junior level Project Manager with relevant construction knowledge, and a strong track record of using project management methodologies and organisational processes to achieve efficient outcomes, manage risks and implement lessons learnt.

    You will be familiar with the lifecycle of a construction project (project inception to handover / commissioning).
