As the Stock Manager you’ll work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure overall planning and farming operations are carried out effectively, with a focus on stock work, feed budgeting and growing the skills of the team.
We’re looking for someone who will bring great shepherding experience and skills, an understanding of animal health and someone who enjoys working with and leading people.
This role will suit an experienced Stock Manager or a Head Shepherd or a Senior Shepherd with the ability to be a team player looking to for their next step up.
If you’ve got a great work ethic, you enjoy using your initiative, you actively develop staff, and you have a willingness to try new ideas and an interest in working with systems, this is the role for you.
The 2019 Southland BFEA winner, Kepler Farm is set in spectacular scenery on the outskirts of Manapouri township and only a five to ten minute drive from Te Anau with easy access to the wonders of Fiordland National Park.
This 1645 ha farm is a predominantly flat to rolling hill property breeding and finishing 15,000 su with an all grass wintering system.
