We are Toitū Envirocare (Enviro-Mark Solutions Limited), and chances are you've already interacted with our brands Toitū net carbonzero, Toitū carbonreduce, or Enviro-Mark.

You may have enjoyed carbonzero certified Yealands Wine or Steinlager beer, eaten Enviro-Mark Certified Abe's Bagels or used carbonzero certified ecotricity electricity, cleaned using Enviro-Mark Certified Eco Store products or at least know friends or family who have.

You may have wondered at times how organisations like Kathmandu, The Warehouse Group, Canterbury University and Westpac manage their carbon emissions.

The short answer is, it's our people. We are proudly New Zealand's leading carbon reduction solution; however, our work isn't done yet! Our aim is to encourage more organisations to start their journey with us to make New Zealand and the world more sustainable.

We are looking for someone that loves getting into the detail of standards and working out how they can be incorporated into accredited and best practice programmes for businesses.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Identifying new and updated standards related to our existing and potential future offerings, including management system, GHG measurement, audit and accreditation standards.
  • Interpreting standards (and any associated requirements) to determine how to effectively incorporate them into Toitū 's suite of offerings
  • Determining programme changes that would be needed to align with relevant standards and any impacts these may have on existing accreditations
  • Responsibility for maintaining Toitū's core scheme documents in accordance with our external accreditation requirements
  • Overseeing Toitū's environmental commitments (such as CLC, Climate Neutral Now, SBTi) and ensuring that the commitments are fully incorporated into our plans and processes.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of Toitū's accreditation requirements including ongoing system maintenance. This includes JAS-ANZ, BCorp, ICROA, CDP and any other certifications and accreditation that we hold.
  • The hours of work for this permanent position is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. You would be a part of our Technical team at either our Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch offices.

We could consider other New Zealand locations for remote working.

The starting remuneration would be between $90,000 to $100,000 per annum depending on relevant experience.

    About You

You are the sort of person who has an eye for detail but can apply that to big picture problems. Ideally you will have a background in environmental or financial reporting and audit standards, or a related background and a willingness to learn.

You will be able to engage with others within and beyond Toitū to understand and communicate standards and accreditation needs, and will be a strong communicator and team member.

You may also have an interest in inclusion of matauranga Māori into environmental programmes.

You will possess a tertiary education qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline, for example environmental or financial accountancy qualifications / experience.

The incumbent may be required to travel from time to time to support the activities of Toitū Envirocare. While flexibility is a key part of the Toitū way of working attendance at Toitū offices may be required from time to time.

A fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a busy team making a difference to New Zealand.
