What your day could look like :

  • Working on multiple sites on a range of projects across the region
  • Use of GIS and Survey software
  • Requesting and understanding utility plans for upcoming projects
  • Computer-based work including project administration, liaising with other teams and Management, customer liaising, and pricing projects
  • Fieldwork, often alone, identifying and marking up the location and depths of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, fibre, and electricity
  • Troubleshooting any technical issues and using initiative to work around any issues experienced on-site in relation to underground utilities

    You will bring excellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change. You will be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision but also collaborate with team members when required .

    In addition :

  • Prior experience with Service Locating equipment
  • 3+ year experience in a similar role
  • xperience using ArcGIS software (or similar) is essential
  • Naturally looking for solutions "outside of the square" when solutions are not obvious;
  • Able to make calculated, rapid decisions under pressure and understand the impact of those decisions throughout the business;
  • Able to prioritise workload and convey to others when there may urgency required to fulfil customer expectation;
  • Practical, with good tool skills and a "Kiwi No 8 wire" mentality;
  • A clear communicator, both written and verbal;
  • Able to lift items weighing 25+ kg on a regular basis; and
