    Are you passionate about road safety and helping everyone in our community be safe on Tasman's roads? Do you love getting amongst people from all walks of life, and help bring initiatives and events to life?

    Our roading and cycleway network spans over 1,700kms, from Farewell Spit in the north to Shenandoah in the south, and everywhere in between.

    Our community road safety programme helps address high risk activities and road users including motorcyclists, young drivers, driver distraction and impairment

    You'll promote national road safety initiatives in the Tasman and Top of the South area with a special focus on Road to Zero'.

    You'll be the primary liaison co-ordinating with specialist providers for a wide range of activities including cycle and road safety programmes in schools, and the Ride to Live motorcycle training program.

    You will work closely with our partner agencies in the Top of the South on local safety events like Cops with Cakes, Bikers Brunch and Driver Revivers.

    You'll spend just as much time out and about being creative as you do in the office, and there is a real sense of the feel good' component to this role through helping individuals or community groups achieve something meaningful, whilst making a real difference on improving the safety of our roads.

  • Has previous experience in a role with public relations, health promotion, community development or injury prevention content.
  • You'll also preferably have had exposure to road safety and operation roading matters in the past.

  • Quickly builds strong relationships and becomes a trusted source of advice and guidance on road safety matters. You'll collaborate with an array of stakeholders including other councils, Waka Kotahi, Police, FENZ, DHB's, ACC, Age concern, schools, community groups the list goes on!
  • Takes ownership of your work and is an engaging, friendly and collaborative team mate.
