    The Opportunity

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Officer to join our Business Advisory Team based in Nelson.

    The position would suit a driven, go-getter that is looking for an opportunity to progress their accounting career. Depending on experience, the role would include assisting with general bookkeeping and compliance work for clients, and other business advisory work.

    Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include maintenance of transactional business records for clients, maintenance and support of clients accounting software, preparation of GST returns, preparation of creditor payments, reconciliation of client funds, and preparation of management reports.

    What you need to be successful

  • 2+ years accounting / Bookkeeping experience in a professional services environment or similar role
  • A working knowledge of New Zealand taxation rules for income tax and GST would be an advantage
  • Experience reconciling balances, financial reporting, and conducting general bookkeeping
  • Experience using Xero and MYOB would be an advantage but not necessary
  • Bachelor's degree in business / commerce will be considered a bonus but is not required.
  • Along with excellent communication skills, you will have exceptional attention to detail, be highly organised and demonstrate a positive, professional and proactive approach.
