About the role
Reporting directly to the Group GM - Corporate Affairs, you will proactively manage external communication strategies that build and protect Fletcher Building’s reputation.
You will assist in providing strategic counsel to Group functions, divisions and business units on reputational risk; representing the communications team as appropriate on projects and committees.
This is an external communications role where your responsibilities will include media relations, issues and crisis management, supporting financial communications (such as the trading updates, the Annual Report and the Annual Shareholders Meeting), investor relations and government relations.
With a collaborative mentality, you will work with the team to ensure all internal and external communications are aligned, and work at pace to manage media and key stakeholder engagement.
About you You’ll be tertiary qualified with proven experience in communications strategy development and execution. You will have the confidence to take ownership in responding to emerging and existing business issues and your verbal and written communication skills will be second to none.
Previous experience working with large corporates or publicly listed companies will see you succeed, as a large part of this role includes the financial communications of the Group.
Superior commercial acumen and an ability to deal with key stakeholders both externally and internally is also a must. This role centres on decisive communications and you will be expected to flex as new priorities and focuses arise.
Although you will be a seasoned communications professional, you will still have an aptitude to learn and an openness to support the wider team as needed.
