The Manager Crown Entity Monitoring has day to day responsibility for providing high level financial technical expertise, oversight and analysis of the Crown Entity stakeholders within the sector, financial performance and consolidated results, and to support the Executive Leadership Team with insights on the ongoing financial performance and sustainability of DHBs and Crown entities.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables :
Lead programmes of work within the Directorate and Ministry to deliver on the Government's and Ministry priorities and objectives.
Build collaborative and positive relationships across the Directorate, Ministry, the wider sector, government and other external stakeholders
Lead the provision of strategic advice and insight on Crown entity short and medium term financial performance, and in year monitoring and reporting
Develop and lead modeling of current and out year consolidated financial performance and lead the forecasting for input into Treasury Budget processes and other reporting requirements
Provide financial technical expertise and advice to the sector perspective on financial risks and issues that require a Ministry lead view, partnering with stakeholders and Audit NZ in resolving issues and proposed solutions
Lead the team to deliver value-add timely monthly reporting to Ministers and senior management that includes both financial and non-
financial drivers include variance analysis, forecasts and recommendations for management actions
Tertiary qualification in a finance or relevant field, Chartered Accountant or similar qualification required.
Strong experience working across an organisation using a relationship approach that results in the effective provision of services.
Strong experience working with government decision-making and operating procedures and working with Ministers and their office(s), and central agencies.
Strong experience developing and maintaining business focused financial reporting and analysis.
Demonstrable experience providing proactive, objective and high quality financial advice, information and analysis and interpretation on business performance issues.
A sound understanding of the health sector.
A strategic thinker who is able to make the connections between various aspects of the organisation and implications for business units.
