About this role

A senior leadership role working under a Principal. The ideal candidate will play a key role in design leadership. Key focus on city redevelopment projects but also a diverse range of other urban and community projects.

Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable and the ability to work in a team is essential. Must be willing and able to relocate to New Zealand.

This established and award winning practice is known for their healthcare, education, cultural, residential, commercial and retail projects, the successful applicant will be joining an ethical and well respected practice. Key responsibilities

  • Work within a supportive leadership team and have the mentorship and guidance of Principals but also the opportunity to shape the future of the team.
  • Ability to implement knowledge on a range of typologies
  • Develop and grow an existing sector
  • Work within a highly collaborative team on a range of large scale and diverse projects
  • Contribute to design thinking
  • Collaborate with other disciplines including landscape architects, planners and architects
  • Work across projects ranging from transport to campus masterplanning and urban renewal strategy and other typologies locally and internationally
  • Mentor younger team members
  • Skills and experience

  • Outstanding design skills supported by a great portfolio of past work
  • Minimum of 10 years' past experience
  • Urban designer with an architectural background
  • Experience with Transport and Master-planning valuable
  • Experience gained on mixed use and multi residential projects
  • Past experience gained within New Zealand favourable
  • Strong communication skills both verbal written and graphic essential
  • Great attitude and a hands-on approach
  • Team leadership skills including ability to inspire, develop and mentor others
  • Must be able to relocate to New Zealand
