  • Working across both of our sites Greenlane Clinical Centre & Auckland City Hospital
  • We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced OH&S Advisor to join a team who work collectively to provide a safe environment for our people, patients, visitors, contractors and on-site community.

    You will also have the opportunity to assist in developing, reviewing and implementing policies that form the corporate governance for Occupational Health and Safety at Auckland DHB.

    Therefore you will need to have a working knowledge of current legislation, the ACC Partnership Programme audit standards, and a working knowledge of ISO 45001.

    Knowledge of a hospital environment is not necessary, but would be a distinct advantage.

    About you He kōrero mōu

    You will hold a minimum of a tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field, and have at least 4 - 5 years’ experience in an OH&S Advisor role.

    You will be a strong communicator, able to deliver safety best practice to frontline staff, in a clear and easy to understand manner.

    The successful candidate will have a quality focus, and will be confident in supporting, and providing evidence-based advice in best practice for OH&S topics.

    You will be a hands-on person, coach, and mentor, for the staff of Auckland DHB.

    We would consider it advantageous that you have a working knowledge of both Australian and New Zealand OH&S, and hazardous substance legislation.

    You may even have a further qualification in safety auditing or project management. Membership or accreditation (or working towards this) through a National body such as the NZISM would also be advantageous.
