About the role :
We work in an area of high diversity serving people from a range of ethnicities and socio-economic resources as well as both rural and urban populations.
This provides a rich environment to add to your experience in palliative medicine. We are committed to enable to provide people to stay at home if that is what they want to do and are exploring innovative and less commonly used approaches to support this objective.
We are looking for doctors interested to do locums or work weekends with us.
About us :
Hospice West Auckland has been providing specialist palliative care services to the community of West Auckland for more than three decades.
Our population is mixed urban and rural and ethnically diverse. We are a busy service and as many of our patient's preference is to be at home, Community Palliative Care is our focus.
We currently have a day unit open where we can admit patients over the day for observation and services or bring them for outpatient appointments as required.
Inpatient referrals are made currently to either North Shore or Hibiscus Coast Hospice.
You need :
An interest in professional development in palliative care along with a minimum of three years post qualification experience in a speciality related to palliative care (General Medicine, Health of Older People, Primary Care) is required.
A resilient team player keen to learn from us whilst bringing their own specific skills and expertise to share with the team.
