About the Role

Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Senior Adviser position is responsible for providing ongoing analysis and advice to Ministers and Senior Leaders / Groups on the progress and delivery of the One Billion Trees (1BT) Programme and Fund.

This is a key position that will work with teams across Te Uru R ākau New Zealand Forest Service and the Forest Development Grants and Partnerships Directorate.

You will be responsible for writing and reporting the success of the 1BT Programme and Fund to multiple stakeholders including Ministers.

Salary is : $92,073 - $124,570 depending on skills and experience.

About You Mōu

To be successful in this role you'll bring a focus on accurate reporting of data, continuous improvement, be a confident communicator and have a solid understanding of how to deliver as part of a team.

You will be required to oversee the monitoring and reporting function of the team.

We are looking for someone who wants to hone their skills in understanding requirements, applying best practice and delivering results.

You'll have the scope to think differently and bring new ideas to the table.

You will work closely with colleagues across Te Uru Rākau New Zealand Forest Service and MPI, and in other agencies so this needs to be something you'll enjoy.

There is complexity and challenge, so you will need to be energetic, adaptable and innovative to thrive in this environment.

To succeed you will need to :

  • Have an eye for detail, with the big picture in mind
  • Be a team player, and help to collaborate with and motivate others to help
  • Coordinate and prioritise incoming data and reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Prioritise delivery of quality responses to information and reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to advice that promotes the achievement of Government priorities and Ministry objectives, and is aimed at government Ministers, officials and stakeholders
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • You'll also offer :

  • Facilitation skills to foster cross-agency coordination and providing subject matter expertise
  • Coordination of 1BT Programme administration responsibilities (i.e. Governancve processes)
  • Understanding of our key stakeholders and the ability to engage for results.
