Customer and Markets Central Lead - Wellington

Fixed term 12-15 months - finishing September 2022

The Opportunity

As a critical contributor to the Customer and Markets team, the senior Business Development Advisor engages closely with the extended team in the central region, helping the business identify and leverage opportunities.

Sharing knowledge to elevate capability internally, the role also provides insights to clients and relays information back to the business, also collaborating with Marketing and Business Development team members around NZ and Australia.

Ideally based in Wellington (other central NZ locations will be considered), the role purpose will be to add strategic value across multiple geographies.

You’ll lead business development initiatives and activities that build market profile and strengthen client relationships, ultimately continuing the success of our business in the region.

Fixed term contract term dependent on commencement availability, with end date September 2022.

About You

A key focus of this role is promoting BD best practice. You will be a confident presenter, facilitator and coach, becoming recognised by our team members as a credible source of guidance and support, enabling confidence and continuous improvement in managing pursuits and bids.

You will bring strength in preparing and reviewing technical information and in bringing people together towards shared goals.

Your proactive attitude and strong commercial acumen will position you as a key advisor to the Regional Manager and Southern Leadership Team.

An experienced and suitably qualified business development professional looking for new challenge, you will be confident of your

  • ease in establishing rapport and credibility with stakeholders, internally and externally
  • commercial understanding of private sector business
  • ability to view and understand from the client perspective
  • exceptional writing and facilitation skills
  • current knowledge of market trends, proactively seeking and alert to business opportunities
  • experience in, or understanding of professional services and / or engineering / construction industries
  • track record of meeting tight deadlines
