About the role

Working in our Partnering for Outcomes Business Group the Senior Advisor, Sector Engagement will work closely with our social services sector ensuring the positive outcome and improvement for all our tamariki, young people and their families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our provider capability and engagement framework to help our partners play their role in delivering the support needed by tamariki and whānau.

A key part of your success will be your ability to liaise with various groups and partners nationally and in our regions, to foster collaboration and build their ability to deliver services in keeping with our legislation.

Skills and experience

You will be an experienced Senior Advisor with experience working on project workstreams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

We are looking for the following :

  • Knowledge of the public sector with a strong Māori and Pacific focus
  • Understanding of how to build capability and implement change within complex environments
  • A high level of written and verbal communication with a particular focus on exemplary report writing
  • Interest in monitoring and evaluating the quality of practices and services
  • High levels of initiative and a proactive working style with an eye on continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain networks and relationships, both internally and externally
  • Sound understanding of relevant guiding legislations such as section 7AA of Oranga Tamariki act and approaches to Treaty responsiveness
  • Ability to work flexibly, perform under pressure and drive under an environment of change
  • This role will be highly collaborative and you will need the confidence and proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels of the Ministry and comfortable with creating new connections with members of the community and other key stakeholders.

    You will demonstrate the ability to work at pace and to deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide credible and pragmatic advice.
