Based in our Richmond office, this is a hands-on role implementing, managing and reporting on designated compliance monitoring programmes associated with land, air and water throughout the Tasman region.
As part of a small team dedicated to protecting our environment, you'll ensure that the rules in the Tasman Resource Management Plan (TRMP) and other relevant legislation are being followed.
You'll be relied upon to provide professional advice to resource consent holders and the general public and be confident to receive, assess and respond to public complaints, conduct timely investigations and take appropriate actions where issues are identified.
As such, you won't shy away from challenges and you'll be a confident decision-maker with strong digital literacy and written communication skills.
You will be a team player but also entirely comfortable working autonomously out in the field.
You'll come to us with practical experience in the compliance sector, sound knowledge of regulations, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a pragmatic approach.
The ability to interpret and apply a wide range of statutes and regulations applicable to environmental management and a tertiary qualification in resource management or environmental science will be a definite advantage.
In return, we offer ongoing professional development and a variety of challenging and interesting work. We also offer relocation assistance, a day off for your birthday and a benefits package to suit your personal preferences.
The Tasman District is a great place to live and work. The climate, a beautiful coastline and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors are some of the main reasons why people choose to be here.
