Established in February 2019, Ngā Wai a Te Tūī aims to lead transformative and innovative Māori and Indigenous research which contributes to te puna mātauranga at Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka and wider communities.
Through collaborative partnerships, Ngā Wai a Te Tūī engages in multi-disciplinary kaupapa Māori research that seeks to advance and respond to contemporary issues within society that supports the flourishing of whānau, hapū, iwi, marae and Māori communities.
The positionWe have an exciting opportunity to lead the overall administrative support for Ngā Wai a Te Tūī. The role works closely with the Research Manager to develop and maintain best practice systems, which incorporate the knowledge and understanding of te ao Māori, to provide culturally appropriate administration services, and ensure the smooth and successful organisation of our research projects.
About youTo be successful in this position you'll have strong leadership skills that will enable the administration team to strive for excellence.
You will come from a background in administration or office management and will have ideally worked in research and / or within a tertiary education organisation.
You will have an understanding of tikanga and Te Reo Māori and a genuine passion for enabling Māori communities to flourish.
You'll also demonstrate : A strong understanding of Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and the values and practices of Kaupapa MāoriThe ability to form strong relationships with your stakeholdersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTime management, organisation and prioritisation skillsA positive, can-do attitude, where you are happy to roll up your sleeves and help where needed.
