    About the Role :

    We currently have casual opportunities available in our Rotorua adult and youth services. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of people in our community to help them to reconnect and live as independently as possible.

    As part of these roles you will support whaiora to achieve their goals, coach and support them with their daily living skills, and work closely with family / whanau and colleagues, community providers, clinical teams and other external teams to encourage full community participation.

    The hours for our services are done on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday. The shifts include 7.00am- 3.30pm, 10.00am - 6.

    30pm, 3.00pm - 11.30 pm, 11.00pm - 07.30am.

    About You :

    Ideally you will be experienced, qualified and have flexibility whilst also demonstrating sound judgement. In this role you will develop risk management and well-being support plans in collaboration with the individual / whanau, so the ability to capture information accurately and record notes in a timely way, we're also looking for someone familiar with basic IT applications and databases, managing community resources efficiently and effectively is another part this varied role.

    You will make use of your community connections to encourage tangata whaiora to become involved in the wider community and focus on the strengths and interests of the client.

    You will use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow. Excellent time keeping and strong professional boundaries are a must.

    You will :

  • Ideally have a Mental Health and Addiction Level 4 qualification or above (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards achieving this alongside your mahi.
  • Have previous experience in Mental Health & Addiction services and a commitment to quality care
  • Hold a Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Possess strong communication skills, good time management and organisational skills
  • Be culturally respective and non judgemental and an appreciation of diversity and difference
  • See potential in people and thrive in a challenging and ever changing environment
  • Have the ability to easily develop trusting relationships with our tangata whaiora, while maintaining strong professional boundaries
  • Proficient knowledge and capability of IT and record database
