Overall purpose of job

  • Your role is to help Watson-Marlow Pump Group sales staff / customers and distributors to select the most suitable pump / equipment for the required application
  • To offer solutions those satisfy any application / budget / timescale constraints in line with customers needs
  • To aid the progression of any relevant job / project through all areas of production from quotation, order processing, purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, shipment through to successful commissioning
  • Production of any relevant documentation to assist with the above and aid any subsequent orders that may follow
  • Provide technical help and assistance to other departments as required
  • Receipt of goods from suppliers, unloading using appropriate methods
  • Unpacking, counting, checking for damaged and identification of goods
  • Book and receive into the computer system
  • Identify deliveries planned for the days and progress with suppliers if goods fail to arrive
  • Distribute and store goods as appropriate and within OHS guidelines
  • Ensure the work areas are controlled and maintained in line with company policy
  • Main duties and responsibilities

  • Liaising with customers and the sales team to produce a specification
  • Interpret specifications and generate accurate costings for all products
  • To provide detailed quotations both verbal and written for standard and engineered solutions with minimum delay
  • To provide customers and potential customers with accurate technical information sufficient to enable sound decisions to be made on the purchase and use of Watson-Marlow Pumps Group products
  • To handle orders as per departmental procedures, including liaison with other departments, suppliers and customers as necessary
  • Ensure all associated files both electronic and hard copy are kept up to date
  • Sourcing non-standard equipment as necessary
  • Visiting customers as necessary
  • To attend selected exhibitions as necessary
  • To participate in the smooth day to day running of the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group Internal Sales department and to work with others as necessary

  • Electro-mechanical / manufacturing background

  • Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Formal relevant engineering qualifications
  • Experience in process engineering
  • Advanced English writing / reading competencies. Fluent

  • Appropriate product or company experience
  • Numeracy skills
  • Work in a detailed and accurate manner
  • Computer competencies required for this position

  • Computer literate, able to create correspondence in Word
  • Able to use Excel / Access to analyze, collate, and present data
  • Able to use Outlook for e-mail and appointment tracking purposes
  • Has knowledge of and some experience working with a CRM (customer relation management system)
  • Must continue to grow with existing technology in an effort to become increasingly efficient
  • Computer literate
  • Specific requirements for completing essential functions of the position :

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally, as required
