With its four core activities of development; placemaking; property management; and acquisitions and disposals, Panuku is actively involved throughout the property lifecycle and acts on behalf of the Council and its CCOs.
The core strategic activities of the organisation are : To lead and catalyse urban redevelopment in priority locations.To holistically create value from Council assets assigned to Panuku.
and which create partnerships across agencies, with iwi and the private sector, to deliver quality housing, urban centres and public spaces.
Particular skills and competencies sought : Priorities : Passion for, and significant knowledge and experience in, urban regeneration and redevelopment, with sensitivity to sustainabilityrequirements.
Commercial mindset, with strong finance skills and experience in structuring large scale commercial deals, using contemporarymodels such as alliances and partnerships.
An appreciation of Auckland’s diverse social and cultural context and an understanding of what makes a successful community.
Proven track record of senior leadership and / or governance roles, ideally with connections / experience working with local government,and / or central government housing and infrastructure agencies.
Common Priorities Across the CCOsUphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, readiness to promote improved outcomes for Māori and knowledge of Te Ao Māoriand established Māori networks.
Demonstrate appropriate accountability and responsiveness to the Governing Body and the public and a commitment to public sectorethos.
Demonstrate financial accountability with close review of current and proposed activities to deliver value for money.Commitment to integrate council’s climate action plans into the strategies and operations of the Council-controlled Organisations.
Driving appropriate leadership and cultural response to deliver the required outcomes (and / or deliver on targets as identified).
Commitment to collaborate across the Council-controlled Organisation family.Demonstrate inclusive and adaptive leadership to harness the benefits of diversity.
UsefulExperienced in transforming organisations in times of change and uncertainty.Experienced in driving culture change through complex organisations.
