Hāpai Te Hauora Tapui, Māori Public Health is a National Māori Public Health organisation based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, leading Māori Public health advocacy, policy, research and infrastructure.

Inā ko koe tēna e whakapono ana ki tēnei tūranga, tēna, tono mai tō tāhuhu tangata ki a : We are looking for a full-time Public Health Advisor to join our Gambling Harm minimisation team.

This is a full-time role (1.0 FTE 37.5hrs per week), based primarily at our Henderson offices as well as being out in the community.

This role will facilitate and support thriving and flourishing communities within Tāmaki Makaurau and will further enhance community empowerment through working with whānau, hapū, iwi and hāpori and supporting community leaders working towards Māori public health outcomes with the objective to prevent the harm caused by problem gambling on whānau, hapū and iwi across Auckland.

  • To be successful in this role, you will have : A sound understanding of Te Reo me ōnā tikanga.A relevant tertiary qualification in either public health or health promotion (or working towards one);
  • Experience working with communities and facilitating community action and strong networking / whanaungatanga skillssome experience in project development, research and evaluation as well as strong writing skills.

    A strong work ethic, and effective time management skillsThe ability to manage and plan your own work loadAn openness to learning new skills.
