As the Senior Quanity Surveyor , you will be responsible to manage the QS team (6x QS's) and manage the claims process in accordance with best practice and within boundaries of specific conditions of contract including :
Manage QS team through variations and claims process as required.
Revising company claim preparation with each QS to ensure correct process, description and cost will be forwarded.
Quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle.
To be responsible for and manage the claim resolution process.
To prepare a monthly claim status report for management.
Manage any claim dispute process.
Prepare and submit claims directly.
Liaise closely with company clients.
Ensure proper claim assistance is given from project engineers and supervisors.
Work closely with the commercial manager on all aspects of the claim role.
Some involvement in other QS work function is required.
To be considered for this role you will have the following attributes :
8-10 years + experience within the within the New Zealand commercial construction industry in a claim related aspect.
Excellent understand the of the NZS3901 related to commercial construction contracts
Tertiary qualified related to industry
Good relationship builder.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and technically savvy.
Good computer skills and familiarity with Windows office suite.
Ability to effectively work with and manage other team members.
Experience in general QS functions - measuring, estimating, payment claims and the like.
