The Role

Reporting to the Country Manager, we are currently looking for an experienced Transport Manager who is looking to make an impact managing our New Zealand network with responsibility for transport operations in our Auckland and Christchurch distribution centres.

This role will see you manage all facets of the transport operations at the Distribution Centres in a safe, cost-effective manner with a focus on people.

You will also ensure that the Client considers the delivery service to be world class and highly customer focused.

The Tasks

This role could see you working across :

Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment with a focus on preventative actions which promotes a positive culture towards safety and wellness.

Drive operations to ensure KPI’s are achieved. Use operation reports to identify root cause of key gaps and implement improvement measures.

Manage third party logistics providers.

Maintain equipment in compliance with legislative, business and customer requirements.

Effectively manage employees and industrial relations in the department to ensure performance concerns are being addressed and managed.

Manage communication within the department and between functional areas to align support with the communication strategy.

Analyse weekly, monthly and annually the financial reports and performance of the department against budget.

Embed a culture of continuous improvement within the workplace.

The Successful Candidate

Strong Transport Management experience.

Previous multiple site management preferred.

Ability to lead a team in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Experienced with Telematics and TMS systems.

Strong knowledge of WHS requirements including Chain of Responsibility.

Lean / Six Sigma experience or knowledge preferred.

Working Knowledge of Food standards (HACCAP).
