We are looking for a Project Engineering & Commissioning Manager to join our exciting business. In this role, you will be exposed to a unique working environment which challenges you to up-lift your skills to the next level.
This is a fixed-term contract role located in the Waikato region until late-2021. It is project-based with the requirement to be mobile / travel and there is a good chance for the right candidate, based on performance to be adopted for a permanent role in the Waikato or Auckland.
The Role :
The Project Engineering and Commissioning Manager reports to the Project Director and matrix reports to the District (NZ) Engineering Manager.
The role contributes to the engineering and commissioning delivery and therefore technical success of the project. This requires defining the detailed project scope and commissioning requirements through review of technical documentation and coordination with internal and external project stakeholders, developing and documenting the engineering and commissioning requirements and validation with the project stakeholders, coordinating work packages for local and remote project team members and assisting with an integrated commissioning process.
Additionally, ensuring that engineering and commissioning deliverables are cost effective by using low cost remote engineering services and driving local productivity and processes compliance to : standardization, process improvement, training, adoption and utilization of standard tools and initiatives.
The role contributes to engineering advancement by pursuing continued professional development and adoption of new initiatives within the engineering business.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in one of the following disciplines : Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ICT or Mechatronics
Intermediate to Advanced computer skills
Understanding of project management and associated financial skills
Previous experience working with highly complex electronic security / building management systems solutions or other integrated electronic control systems
Knowledge of networking, database technology and trends in IT would be highly advantageous
A proven track record in a project engineering capacity involved in the delivery of large and complex technology based projects
Previous exposure to a site based, construction environment
