Nurse Educator - Mental Health and Addiction Services

We are seeking a Mental Health Nurse who would relish a creative challenge for the position of Nurse Educator for the Mental Health and Addictions Services.

The Nurse Educator has the responsibility to plan, promote and provide effective high-quality evidence based clinical education to Bay of Plenty District Health Board Mental Health & Addiction Services staff and Graduate Nurses on clinical placement.

The Nurse Leader provides line-management, and the role includes participation in work / projects related to service development and ongoing brokerage with external service providers.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Applicants should be a Registered Nurse endorsed to work in mental health and have :

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • A current practicing certificate
  • Achieved PDRP Expert Level
  • Extensive clinical experience in mental health
  • Proven ability as an adult educator and clinical role model
  • Computer literacy
  • The Bay of Plenty is renowned for its beautiful beaches, surfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, tramping and native bush reserves.

    The city of Tauranga is only 2 hours from Auckland; around an hour away from Rotorua and in winter it is under 3 hours to the central plateau ski fields.
