Mentors will form a collaborative group, researching and sharing information on activities, resources and services for their clients.

About youThis role may suit someone working towards their Social Work / Counselling or relevant tertiary qualification or qualified individualsExperience working formally or informally with Maori (Essential)Experience working in Social Services with youth - Health, Mental Health (not essential)Must be willing to undergo relevant statutory and personal checksBasic IT skills re MS Word and Office operating systemsSome Key ExpectationsYou will be committed to a positive relationship with a young person, which includes being a willing listener, empathetic, encouraging and supportive, non-judgmental, patient and flexible.

You will be dependable and consistent in meeting commitments with mentee (high importance)You will adhere to maintaining the confidentiality of personal information accessed as part of your roleIllustrates tolerance, understanding and ability to work effectively with different cultural populations, including but not limited to Pasifika, Asian, those with migrant and refugee experiences.
