About the Role This is a fixed term contract for six months until 17 December 2021.
The role will play a critical role in ensuring the DHB can detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity incidents, implementing tooling and systems to continuously improve this capability.
You will be flexible in the playing the most appropriate role during incidents, including being able to act as an incident coordinator for security incidents, expert advisor, coordinating with vendors, or carrying out / overseeing forensic activities either directly or under the supervision of an appropriate investigatory authority.
You will have a passion for the fast-changing world of cyber security and abreast of industry knowledge and trends (both generic and specific NZ / government / health) to ensure a holistic understanding of the threat and vulnerability landscape of the DHB.
You will be constantly looking for opportunities to improve the services we provide and work collaboratively across Digital Services and across Midcentral DHB.

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.
In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.
Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.
Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
