Want to be a part of our team?The MS Engineer (L3) is responsible for providing a service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.

Through preemptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices and quality assurance this role will maintain a high level of service to clients.

Their primary objective is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. The MS Engineer (L3) is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.

This position uses considerable judgement and independent analysis within defined policies and practices. Applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.

Radford reference : Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro / mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and / or wireless systems.

Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering / software engineering. May be involved in customer installation and training.

Provides support to customer / users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature. Survey Tip : In software companies this position generally interacts directly with the customer / user when the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature, such as with systems level software where the user has a technical background.

In a less sophisticated environment, as with many applications products where the user is nontechnical, this position would generally interact with product support personnel and potentially the customer when the customer’s problem cannot be resolved directly by first-level resources.

Working at NTT We are looking for a Senior IT Backup Specialist with the following requirements : A tertiary qualification in the IT field IBM Tivoli Storage Manager and / or IBM Spectrum Protect Qualification Minimum 5 - 6 years backup administrator position Candidates without the above requirements will not be considered for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities Backup administrator Engineering and Provisioning Engineering of Backup related solutions for various project and operational needs.

Install new / rebuild existing systems and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.

in accordance with standards and project / operational requirements. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Contribute to and maintain system standards. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for backup administration tasks.

Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. Manage and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions.

Maintain and manage backup storage technology (IBM Storwise). Deploy new policies within Spectrum Protect Plus Manage database protection within Spectrum Protect Plus Operations and Support Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all data, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.

Perform regular Restore tests to ensure business critical data can be recovered. Create, change, and maintain storage pools, management classes and retention periods as required.

Provide Tier III / other support per request from various departments and business units. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted business units and / or departments.

Maintenance Manage and maintain physical and virtual tape libraries. Maintain and manage replication policies and offsite data copies.

Apply System patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new backup services as necessary.

Upgrade and configure backup system software that protects company infrastructure or applications as per project or operational needs.

Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment for all backup systems.
