  • Contribute to our health system and improve outcomes for all New Zealanders. Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga What is the purpose of this position : We are now looking for experienced Project Managers to lead key workstreams relating to capital investment.
  • These are critical roles which ensure that we are meeting our capital and infrastructure objectives and involve working with central agencies and District Health Boards.

    The Project Manager is responsible for the facilitation of the assigned project deliverables within scope, time and budget.

    Key responsibilities include leading project delivery, ensuring delivery is in line with HIU processes and procedures and approved project methodologies, within scope, on time and within budget.

    You will be providing first line project assurance in delivery and risk management.The following work programmes require project resources : Project A Asset Management Strategy, Framework and Plan

  • Developing an asset risk framework, reporting and implementation roadmap
  • Development of an asset management plan template that links with the Asset Management Strategy, Investment Management Framework and Project Delivery Framework
  • Defining portfolio level asset levels of service and performance measures including implementation planProject B Asset Management IT & Reporting Systems
  • Defining user requirements for an Asset Management Information System
  • Investigating and providing recommendations for IT systems that will help support asset and investment performance reporting and monitoring (potentially an interim solution until the enterprise system is available under Health NZ)Project C Asset Management Technical Policy & Guidance
  • Developing a standardised carbon emissions measurement and reporting tool that complies with the CNGP for use by DHBs
  • Developing standardised fire engineering guidance
  • Investigating the cost / benefits of environmentally sustainable design options at each stage of project delivery Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako Skills & Experience : To be successful, you will need the following qualities :
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects preferably in a health context.
  • Knowledge of the NZ health sector and / or relevant technical field.
  • Relevant professional project management qualfication and or significant project management experience
  • PRINCE2 qualified or highly confident in project methodology
  • Knowledge and application of, appropriate project management frameworks, and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools
  • Understanding of a variety of project processes and methods. Mō tō mātou rōpū About our team : The Ministry's Health Infrastructure Unit helps support and guide health capital strategy and management.
  • This exciting area has responsibility for, capital investment planning and asset management of New Zealand's health assets, and providing support to and oversight of more than 100 district health board capital projects, around the country.

    This is challenging and rewarding work which is delivering the health infrastructure that communities need, so that New Zealanders have access to high quality health services.
