About the Role :
This role is with our mobile service in Manukau which provides support for children and young people with mental health conditions, connecting them with their communities, and supporting them to achieve their meaningful goals.
This also involves liaising with family members and clinical teams. You will be required to travel in this role and will have access to a vehicle.
This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am - 6.30pm.
Who we're looking for :
We are looking for a person with enthusiasm for working with children and youth with mental health difficulties. Most of all we need someone with heart and resilience to remain understanding, and strengths based in difficult situations and have a belief in the ability for people to change and grow.
The successful applicant will demonstrate an empathic and solutions focused outlook when managing conflict as well as excellent skills around planning and advancing persons towards achieving goals.
In order to meet the requirements and demands of this role, you will need to be flexible, have the ability to cope with challenging behaviour with calmness and a good sense of humour and have a "hands on" engaging attitude.
You'll need :
Have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent / above), however if your passion for working with children and youth with mental health difficulties or Health and Wellbeing is what drives you, and if you are willing to commit to working towards a qualification, we would still love to hear from you as we can offer some support around this
