About this opportunity

A great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of all New Zealanders, working as a Risk Partner dedicated to our Healthcare Partnerships team for New Zealand's largest private health insurer.

As a Risk Partner you will work with the Healthcare Partnerships team to drive positive risk management culture, behaviours and outcomes.

This role acts as a trusted advisor with the executive and senior leadership teams in managing current and future delivery of healthcare services.

Helping to navigate change brings the opportunity to grow and develop.

About the role :

  • Supporting positive risk management culture, behaviours and outcomes across our Healthcare Partnerships team.
  • Acting as an advisor and facilitator in the assessment of risks associated with new strategies and change initiatives and in the management of incidents.
  • Maintaining complete and up-to-date inventory of top risks, key controls, control effectiveness, issues and incidents.
  • Continually monitoring the business unit landscape for potential or emerging issues requiring a risk perspective.
  • Maintaining appropriate business continuity and resilience.
  • Delivers timely, relevant and insightful reporting to the Healthcare Partnerships leadership team.
  • Will manage risk-related submissions through to governance forums for Healthcare Partnerships.
  • Maintaining appropriate business unit risk documentation in our Enterprise Risk system.
  • Oversight and improvement of organisational Needs Analysis process and capabilities.
  • About you :

  • Experience in healthcare management including contracting and partnership management.
  • Practical experience across breadth of operational risk practices and processes.
  • Operational application of risk frameworks, processes and systems.
  • Ideally, 2+ years’ experience in risk and compliance in financial services, insurance or health.
  • Practical understanding of our regulatory, compliance and legal environment.
  • Analytical thinking - knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine root cause of organisational problems;
  • and create alternative solutions that resolve problems.

  • Global perspective - knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for successful business; ability to apply this knowledge to diverse and fluid situations.
  • Influence-based leadership in mid to large sized organisations.
  • Experience in / exposure to risk and executive governance processes.
  • Experience in organisational data analytics, visual reporting and assurance.
