About the role :
We are looking for a team player who can demonstrate :
a high level of physical fitness and be able to work in rugged and remote outdoor environments carrying heavy pack weights
proven experience in pest animal management and / or relevant tertiary qualifications
experience in vertebrate pest animal management with toxins and traps
experience in and a passion for the outdoors and wildlife
excellent communication and reporting skills
good public relations skills and an ability to work with a wide range of individuals and organisations
sound knowledge of our native biodiversity
sound knowledge of farm management practises
ability and experience to ride quads, manual four-wheel drive vehicles and motorbikes off road
experience in using firearms for pest animal management
intermediate knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GIS mapping systems, handheld data capture devices and GPS units
experience working alone in remote environments
ability to investigate, plan and carry out allocated technical tasks with minimal supervision.
You will need to be self-motivated and have a current full drivers, learner motorcycle licence and firearms licence. Testing for attributes listed above will be part of the recruitment process.
