    What is exciting about this role?

    You play an integral part in supporting Hospice West Auckland help those in the community to be He rā hōu, he oranga ngākau - living every moment.

    The working driver is an essential part of our retail team, working with our customers, donors, retail managers and staff, plus our wider Hospice team.

    This is a busy, energetic, and rewarding role where you will interact with a wide range of people who provide, support or benefit from our Hospice services.

    What does an average day look like?

    Its all about variety of people, secondhand goods and stores in this role. You can throw away your gym membership pass as this role will keep you fit and active as you move furniture and boxes from donors to stores.

    You will meet generous people in our community willing to donate their goods to hospice and be a strong ambassador of our brand.

    This is a full time (40 hours per week) position working Monday to Friday with one Saturday a month and would be based at our processing centre of New Lynn.

    What you will bring the role :

    As a Working Driver in our retail team, you will have the opportunity to REALLY make a difference to your community, the environment, and your teammates.

    To be successful in this job you will :

  • Have a full, unrestricted drivers' licence and be able to drive a manual transit delivery van.
  • Be physically strong and able to lift furniture and heavy items.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Hold intermediate level computer literacy & knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
  • Have a good knowledge of the West Auckland roads and suburbs.
  • Be organised, dependable and able to work to a busy schedule.
  • Demonstrate high time-management skills.
  • Be efficient, organised and tidy so as to keep the truck and stock efficiently organised and safe.
  • Be flexible to help with other duties within the retail team as needed.
  • Be a patient and compassionate person who understands the Hospice philosophy.
