The Senior Associate Structural Engineer provides technical leadership to more junior members of the team, supports the Principal Engineer / Team Leader and maintains Structural Engineering technical leadership and delivery.

You will provide consistent leadership and role modelling of Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture across the team that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring and prioritises the health and wellbeing of our people.

You will set clear direction and provide a strong role model regarding client focus and responsiveness and your strong client relationships will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs

Based in our Auckland team, this role will focus on supporting projects in NZ but brings exciting opportunities to connect to and serve our broader Jacobs buildings practice across ANZ and beyond.

You will

  • Lead and undertake technical project work involving Building Structures Design
  • Lead the delivery of structural and / or multi-discipline Built Environment projects
  • Lead the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Lead Safe Design activities
  • Responsibility for the quality of structural technical work by others
  • Provision of mentoring and guidance
  • Business Development and winning work
  • Coordination with overseas offices
  • Travel to other offices within ANZ and beyond as required to fulfil the role
  • Forge and maintain connections with the global Building Structures cohort
  • Here's What You'll Need :

  • Around 15 years’ experience in Structural Engineering for building structures
  • Significant experience in technical leadership of the Structural discipline
  • A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems
  • Excellent problem solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Industry memberships and active participation at conferences / thought leadership
  • Registered in Australia or NZ RBP Victoria)
  • Resourcefulness and ability to take ownership of your designated tasks and those of others
  • An excellent understanding and application of relevant ANZ structural design standards
